Australian Finance Industry Association (AFIA). Established in 1958, AFIA is Australia's national finance industry association, representing the interests and views of its members to government and provides a variety of other member services.
The Association exists to:
- advance the standing of the industry in the community by furthering greater understanding of the role, purpose and function of financiers
- conduct research on financial, economic, legal, industrial and other matters affeting the membership as a whole
- to maintain a natiowide education program to encourage a greater awareness of money management including the wise use of credit and the avoidance of financial over-commitment
